We’ve just spent two nights at Rocklea and we had a great time.The owners, Chris and Liz, were welcoming and incredibly informative about places to walk in the area.Our room was called Castlerigg and it was spacious with two lovely seating areas.The room was very clean with fresh milk and water which was topped up daily.There is a lovely beck that runs alongside the house and we enjoyed listening to it from our room and also sitting next to it in the seating area outside. Breakfast was delicious and filling with lots of choice on the menu.Rocklea is a very short walk from the centre of Windermere and a 10-15 minute walk from Bowness and is in a perfect, quiet location.We loved our stay and would highly recommend Rocklea if you are looking for a quiet location with welcoming, informative and very friendly hosts. The hotel is simply wonderful, super clean and in an excellent location.The owners are very friendly.And the breakfast is something completely different, simply delicious!I highly recommend this hotel. - Tatiana S
Very enjoyable 2night stay within easy walking distance to Windermere. Hosts were attentive and helpful with knowledge of walks and local transport. Great choice for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.- Gill W
