Rocklea Guest House is a corporate member of the Windermere, Ambleside and District Angling Association (WADAA), offering a large range of private waters. Two fishing permits are available free of charge to our guests to fish all 16 private Trout and Coarse waters. Many of these waters are within 3 miles of the guest house and cater for everyone from beginner to the professional angler.

For the fly angler WADAA offers well stocked trout fisheries. Some waters are stocked with large tagged rainbow trout providing good catch and release sport fishing. For a more natural style of angling there are several hill tarns ranging in size from one to thirty acres holding brown and rainbow trout.

Coarse anglers can experience some of the best pike fishing in the UK at Rydal Water and Grasmere. Other waters hold large carp (up to 20lbs), tench, bream, roach, perch, chub and rudd.
